How to navigate vHaaS

This page gives you a basic overview on how to navigate through the application. If you have admin rights, you might also want to check out the Advanced Navigation Guide.

The Navigation Bar (Navbar)

The Navbar sits on the very top of the application and never changes. It lets you navigate between the pages. The navigation bar has the following buttons from left to right:

Organization Selector - shows the organization(s) you belong to

Overview - takes you to the Overview

Explorer - opens the Explorer

My Assemblies - shows all active assembly sessions. Book an Assembly to see it there

Global Search - globally search for all resources you have access to. Try the hotkey "/"

Help - access our support:

Notification - shows pending session requests.

Profile - takes you either to the Profile or lets you Logout.

Overview

In the Data Grid of the Overview you can see all assemblies you have access to. This is the main landing page of the application. When you click an on an Assembly name you get to it's Assembly Page

The search bar in the overview content uses a fuzzy search algorithm and therefore allows you to find results based on all values in the assembly profile.

The sidebar in the Overview represents the extensive filter options for the assemblies. Your selected filters are saved in the browser and therefore available across your browser sessions. Reset all filters by clicking the icon at the top of the sidebar

Explorer

In the Explorer you can browse all the resources you have access to. Most of them will be displayed in a Data Grid. It is a context sensitive page. If you click a resource you open its context thus going deeper in the nested structure of resource relations.

The context is represented by the breadcrumbs at the very top of the page:

Organizations / your_organization / Explorer / Groups / your_group / Assemblies
Here you can see all Assemblies that are part of your group within your organization
Organizations / your_organization / Explorer / Assemblies
Here you can see all Assemblies that belong to you organization

Profile

Here you can find all settings and features that are unique to your Account/ profile, such as:

  1. Add a Git SSH Key
  2. Add Environment Variables
  3. Manage Cleanup Paths

Assembly Page

Each Assembly has its own Assembly page. You can get here from anywhere in the application by clicking an Assembly's name. On the very top of Assembly page content you will see the respective Assembly-ID. You can click the Favorite Button to add it to your favorites. In case you booked the assembly, you will see the manage session buttons.

The Sidebar on the left represents different actions and features available for the assembly, such as:

Calendar

See the schedule of your assembly. You can see free time slots easily and book the assembly for future sessions.

Setup

Here you can see the Assembly Profile on the left, as well as a visualization of the Assembly on the right. If you are an administrator you might want to edit the assembly profile here.

Data Grid

The Data Grid displays the resources of many pages in vHaaS. It has following features:

  • Use the Search to find your resource.
  • Use the icon to hide or select columns
  • Use the to filter the resources
  • Change the number of displayed resources per page on the bottom of the Data Grid.
  • Drag and drop any column to adjust its width.
