Connect your Hardware to vHaaS

Prerequisites

Steps

1. Create an Assembly Profile

Create an Assembly Profile that represents your hardware. We recommend you to copy one of our examples as a starting point.

You can upload a simple version first. Refine and finish it later conveniently with the Assembly Profile Editor

2. Open the Add Assembly Dialog

Open the Add Assembly dialog from the menu in the Navbar, or from the Assemblies tab in the Explorer.

3. Follow the Steps in the Dialog

  • Upload the Assembly Profile.
  • Assign the Assembly to a Cluster. If you don't have cluster to assign it to, you can also set the status to On-Stock. This means the hardware setup is added to the system but cannot be used.
  • Define assembly owners to delegate management and maintenance rights.
  • Assign a virtual machine to the assembly. Without a virtual machine, the assembly cannot be accessed. To create one first, see Set Up a Virtual Machine.

An Assembly and its Virtual Machine always belong to the same Cluster. An Assembly needs at least one assigned Virtual Machine to be accessible

Result

You added an Assembly to the system. You can now find it in the Overview and open its Assembly Page.
