Manage Banners

For Banners, you can:

  • Create an Announcement Banner or an Assembly Banner.
  • Edit an existing banner's content, color, active window, or scope.
  • Delete a banner you no longer need.

Create an Announcement Banner

Prerequisites

  • Having the Organization Admin role.

Steps

1. Open the create dialog

Open Create Announcement Banner from the menu in the navigation bar, or from the Banners view (/explorer/banners) in the Explorer.

2. Set the banner details

Field Description
Color The banner's severity color.
Start / End Date and time range the banner is shown.
Content The text shown in the banner.
Public (visible to all users) Shows the banner to every user, regardless of organization. Requires the Instance Admin role.
Organization The organization the banner is shown to, when Public is off. Targeting an organization other than your own requires the Instance Admin role.

Create an Assembly Banner

Prerequisites

  • Having the Organization Admin role.
  • An existing Assembly to scope the banner to

Steps

1. Open the create dialog

Open the Banners view (/explorer/banners) in the Explorer, then select Create Banner.

2. Set the banner details

Field Description
Color The banner's severity color.
Start / End Date and time range the banner is shown.
Content The text shown in the banner.
Organization The organization the target Assemblies belong to. Choosing an organization other than your own requires the Instance Admin role.
Cluster The Cluster the target Assemblies belong to.
Assemblies One or more Assemblies the banner is shown on.

Selecting an Organization narrows the Cluster choices, and selecting a Cluster narrows the Assemblies choices.

Edit or Delete a Banner

Prerequisites

  • An existing banner
  • Having the Organization Admin role.

Steps

1. Open the banner list

Open the Banners view (/explorer/banners) in the Explorer. It lists every Announcement and Assembly Banner.

2. Edit or delete the banner

Both actions sit directly in the banner's row:
  • Edit: icon. Update its fields and save.
  • Delete: icon. This cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Likely cause Solution
Banner does not appear in the UI The current date and time is outside the Start–End range Edit the banner and confirm the range covers now.
Announcement Banner does not appear for a user Public is off and the user's organization is not in the selected Organization scope Enable Public, or add the organization to the banner's scope.
Assembly Banner does not appear on an Assembly The Assembly is not included in the banner's Assemblies selection Edit the banner and add the Assembly.
Create Banner is not available Creating, editing, and deleting a banner requires the Organization Admin role for that organization, or Instance Admin Ask an organization admin of that organization, or an instance admin, to manage the banner.
