Changelog
Release notes for the vHaaS platform, newest version first. Each entry lists the changes that are visible to users of the platform, the API, and the CI integration.
Version numbers follow semantic versioning: the minor version increases with new features, the patch version with fixes only.
Release notes are published from version 1.37.0 onwards.
1.41.0 (2026-10-20)
- Agent setup on Arch Linux — The agent setup of an execution environment now has an Arch Linux tab: download the agent package and install it with pacman.
- Connect to the sessions of technical users — When a technical user of your group or organization has a running session, you can now connect to it: from the new "Technical User Sessions" section in the navigation bar, from the assembly page and from the assembly overview.
- Show the agent setup commands again — As long as the agent of an execution environment is not registered, the row action "Show agent setup commands" shows the setup commands again with a new registration token, also after the create dialog was closed.
- Power consumption history of up to 14 days — The power consumption chart on the assembly dashboard now goes back up to 14 days: move to earlier or later data, zoom into a time span and jump back to the live view. The time axis no longer shifts while new values come in.
- Usage reports for instance admins — Instance admins can now open the Usage page from the navigation bar or the dashboard: it shows how an organization used vHaaS over a chosen period, by group and by human or CI use, and exports the report as an HTML document or as JSON data.
- Fixed: Assembly available again right after a session is released — After a session is released, the assembly can be booked again as soon as the user is signed out, instead of only after the whole cleanup on the execution environment.
- Fixed: Links in the API documentation — The documentation and contact links in the API documentation (Help → API Docs) now lead to the public user documentation and the support contact of your environment.
1.40.0 (2026-10-14)
- Fixed: Editing session duration in the calendar — When you edit a session that has not started yet, the duration buttons set the length of the session, as when you create one. For a running session, separate buttons extend it by the chosen time.
- Fixed: Device toggles for the booker — The user of the active booking can switch the devices of an assembly again in cases where the toggles stayed disabled.
- Fixed: Monitoring tab in large organizations — The Monitoring tab in the Explorer works again in organizations with more than 100 assemblies.
- Fixed: Searching the users of a group — The search on a group's user list now filters the list.
- Fixed: Add button on the cluster assemblies page — The assemblies page of a cluster has its "Add" button again, and an assembly can be deleted from a cluster without organization.
- Fixed: Long environment variables — Environment variables with values of up to 1,000 characters can be saved again.
- Fixed: Missing variables and provider tokens in the API — Requesting an environment variable or a provider token that does not exist now returns "404 Not Found" instead of a server error.
1.39.0 (2026-10-09)
- Updated design — Colors, buttons and the vHaaS logo follow the updated Vector design guidelines.
- Theme follows the operating system — The profile settings have a new "System" appearance option that follows the light or dark mode of your operating system. It is the default for users who have not chosen a theme.
- Open assigned resources from the assembly settings — The execution environments, cluster partitions and groups assigned to an assembly link directly to their page in the Explorer.
- Execution environment addresses — Pages for execution environments now use
execution-environmentsinstead ofvirtual-machinesin their address. Old links and bookmarks still lead to the right page. - Fixed: HAI.Gen2 firmware page — The manual updates list every HAI.Gen2 assembly, also before a firmware has been released to the organization, and firmware release notes are shown formatted.
- Fixed: Reason for timed-out session tasks — When a session task times out, its status tooltip now says so instead of showing no reason.
- Fixed: Email notifications — Email notifications are sent again on the on-premises installation and come from the vHaaS sender address.
1.38.0 (2026-09-25)
- Firmware updates for HAI.Gen2 — The new HAI.Gen2 firmware page manages firmware images and rolls them out to the HAI.Gen2 assemblies of an organization: as an update campaign in a chosen time window, or manually per assembly. The update history shows which firmware an assembly received and when.
- Device sequences for session setup and cleanup — A device sequence of an assembly can now be marked as the setup or the cleanup sequence. When a session starts or ends, vHaaS runs that sequence instead of switching all devices on or off, so devices that should keep running can be left out.
- Sharper remote desktop — Remote desktop sessions in the browser now use the full resolution of high-DPI displays and smooth fonts, so text in applications such as VS Code no longer looks blurry.
- Fixed: Sorting the execution environments table — Sorting by a column now sorts all execution environments, not only the rows of the current page.
- Fixed: No "Permission Denied" message in the calendar — Opening another user's session in the calendar view no longer shows a "Permission Denied" message.
- Fixed: Execution environment dialog stays open — A click next to the dialog for creating or editing an execution environment no longer closes it and discards the entries.
- Fixed: Device states update live — When the devices of an assembly are switched on or off at the start or end of a session, the assembly dashboard shows the new state right away.
- Fixed: "All organizations" after opening a link — After opening an Explorer page without an organization through a link or bookmark, create dialogs no longer stay bound to the organization selected before.
1.37.0 (2026-09-25)
